Our Third Big Heart Recipients

Freshly Pressed is extremely pleased to announce that, for the first time, TWO organizations have been chosen to receive Big Heart Grants this quarter: High River Food for Thought and Rowan House Society!

HR Food For Thought is a registered charity which understands that all children should have access to healthy food. Working in partnership with local schools, Food for Thought’s volunteers prepare and deliver lunches to school children in High River, Blackie, Black Diamond, Turner Valley and Cayley every day.

For more than 20 years, Rowan House Society has provided crisis intervention, long-term support, and preventative education to break the cycle of domestic abuse in communities across the Foothills. Through such programs and resources as the Emergency Shelter Program, Rowan House Society ensures that the necessary services and supports are available for all individuals experiencing abuse in any form. 

Once again, the Freshly Pressed team and our selection committee would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who applied for Big Heart Grants in 2022, and we’re excited to see where we can go in 2023!
