The Magic Around Us
Old meets new in a town where magic is all around us.
High River is a town of doers and dreamers. Each artisan, business owner, musician and creative has made the choice to live, work and play in High River. We aren’t some drive-through town but a destination, a hub and experience nestled in the heart of the prairies.
This mural aims to capture this spirit of creativity and innovation all while celebrating the rich, history-steeped land we are fortunate enough to call home.
Just like High River, the more you look and explore, the more you will find hidden in the rolling hills of the Foothills.
The Sky
The sky represents possibility and all it entails: hope, dreams, and vision. Our natural fascination with the sky goes beyond what we can actually see; its vast emptiness becomes a mirror for everything that we think, feel, and believe. It’s a starlit canvas that we paint with our hearts and minds.

The Mountains
I think we can all agree that our first glimpse of the snow-capped Rockies rising in the distance captured our imagination. These mountains shape the lives of everyone who resides within sight of them.
The Rocky Mountains are represented by the clean swaths of colour on either end of the mural, and depict the seasonal changes they experience throughout the year.

Our Local Wildlife
High River sits at the base of the mountains, in the heart of the Foothills, a region that boasts a diverse collection of wildlife, from the industrious beaver to the resourceful fox and majestic moose. There’s a hidden element here as well - each animal you see was chosen by one of our Freshly Pressed team members as a reflection of their personality.

Our Community
The focal point of our mural is, of course, our human figures, representing the diversity of our town and acting as avatars for the viewer. No matter where you’ve arrived from, High River is a wonderful place to call home - a place where you can be part of the community while still celebrating those things that make you uniquely you.
For Kids: Do you know where your ancestors are from? Ask your parents about your family roots.
The Dreams
The feathers and flowers bursting forth represent the epic release of our ideas, dreams, passions, and everything we as residents contribute that brings out the diverse culture and personality of our community.
These dreams rise from the heads or faces of our two humans, bringing life and vibrancy to the landscape & community and filling the sky with limitless potential.
