Freshly Pressed's Big Heart Program is your opportunity to amplify your nonprofit's message and make a lasting impact. We understand that as a nonprofit leader, you're passionate about your cause but often struggle to get your message heard amidst the noise. That's where we come in. We are awarding three $5000 grants of services in 2025, offering our expertise completely free of charge, to help you reach more people and drive meaningful change.

Operating a non-profit is a lot of work. High marketing costs, slim operating budgets, and constantly-changing technologies can severely limit your ability to make a positive impact on your community. 

The Big Heart Grants are our way of giving back to those who have stepped forward to make a difference. We've seen firsthand how investing in your communications can yield long-term benefits. We will select three non-profits in 2025 that we feel best embody the spirit and ideals of this initiative to each receive a $5000 Grant of Services. It’s okay if you’re not a communications expert with a big budget. We will provide you with expert guidance and digital know-how to make your online presence match the passion and enthusiasm of your organization. These grants of services can go towards any of the services we offer, so you can focus on what you do best - helping people.

Non-profits that:

  • Are locally managed & directed (Canada-wide)

  • Are currently operating in at least one of the following provinces: Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, North West Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan, Yukon.

  • Have a minimum of 1 (one) employee

  • Have been registered for at least 1 year

  • Can present a track record of successful programs and projects that have had a positive impact on your community

 

 FAQ

  • Grants of Services can be put towards any service Freshly Pressed currently provides in-house. Applicable projects include:

    • New website builds

    • Existing website upgrades

    • Marketing campaigns

    • Company branding or rebranding

    • Social media campaigns & content

    • Video or Photo content

    • Online advertising (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, etc.)

    While grants can be put towards the digital design of print materials such as business cards, mailers, and signage, the client will be responsible for any and all physical printing costs of these materials.

    A website upgrade is designed to make your existing website more functional and attractive to a modern client. Upgrades may include the following services: graphic design, copy polish or replacement, photo or video content, and the addition of certain website applications such as email sign up windows or galleries. Please note that we are not able to provide website upgrade services for all website builders or platforms, so please check with us beforehand to determine if your website qualifies for an upgrade under this grant.

  • We have formed a committee of community leaders that will choose the winning project based on the Big Heart grant of services selection criteria, which include but are not limited to:

    The extent to which the non-profit meets all eligibility requirements

    The degree to which the Grant of Services is deemed to have a compelling impact on the non-profit and the community

    The quality of the applicant’s written description of why they should receive a Grant of Services and how it will be used.

    Projects that are “camera ready” will be given precedence, well thought out applications with a defined strategy that is ready to hit the ground running will have a better chance of being chosen.

  • Your non-profit must be currently registered and have been operating for at least one year, with at least one employee.

  • No. You cannot make changes once your application is submitted.

  • No. You can only submit one application per quarter.

  • We will announce the winner of the Big Hearts Grant of Services in April 1st 2023.

  • We will reach out to you directly to schedule a Discovery Session to kick off your Grant of Services!

  • No. Due to the large volume of applications we receive, we are unable to provide this information anyone whose application was not selected.

  • As part of being selected as a Grant of Services recipient, we'll contact you to schedule a Discovery Session. We may also contact you to gather stories or testimonials regarding the progress of the selected project and how the Grant of Services helped your non-profit and/or community.
