the ask
Ryan Schmidt, Executive Director of the Strathmore & District Ag Society, approached us with a clear vision: to raise $20 million for a new state-of-the-art facility; The Western Events & Cultural Centre. This facility will serve as a space for the community, fulfilling needs for a year-round rodeo arena, dedicated theatre and performance space, as well as housing a Practical Ranching School and Year Round Rodeo Academy. The impact on the community and Alberta will be large, and Ryan and his team have done plenty of homework to prepare for this moment. Armed with a detailed feasibility independent study and development plan, he sought our expertise in crafting compelling messaging, marketing strategies, and stakeholder engagement plans.
His goal was to rally support from diverse audiences, including the local community, municipal, provincial, and federal governments, as well as private donors. We were tasked with developing strategies to resonate with each group, inspiring them to contribute to this ambitious project.
